GfL and TU Dresden honored with Best Paper in Track at ATRD Symposium in Prague

On June 24, 2025, the Gesellschaft für Luftverkehrsforschung mbH (GfL) and the TU Dresden were awarded the Best Paper in Track in the category “Integrated Airport/Airside Operations” at the US-Europe Air Transportation Research & Development Symposium in Prague.
The award-winning paper, titled "Chances and Pitfalls of the Point Merge Concept – A Design Optimization Framework with a Case Study for Leipzig/Halle Airport on Noise, Capacity and Flight Efficiency", is based on a comprehensive study investigating the potential reintroduction of a Point Merge arrival procedure at Leipzig/Halle Airport — as previously reported.
The paper was presented at the symposium and received significant international attention. Both the presentation and the awarded scientific paper are available on the conference website.
The TU Dresden has also reported on this major success.
