August 2020 | Environment
This year's conference "Rostock Wind" took place on August 7, 2020 in Warnemünde, Germany. The conference is considered the industry meeting for planning, financing and technology of wind turbine generators (WTG) and is organized by the WTG manufacturer eno energy GmbH. In this context our CEO Prof. Fricke gave a lecture on the topic "Air traffic control concerns and expansion of wind energy in times of climate change". The presentation slides of the lecture are available for download here.
GfL currently accompanies the approval procedure for WTGs in a wind farm in the vicinity of a special-purpose airfield in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on behalf of two WTG planning companies. In detail, a general analysis of the obstacle situation as well as flight operation and flight performance specific aspects is carried out. Based on this, the aeronautical compatibility of the planned WTGs with the interests of safe flight operations is assessed in order to be able to examine the need to conduct a detailed safety assessment.
