April 2013 | Performance Analyses
GfL analyses the air traffic volume on behalf of Strausberger Flugplatz GmbH as a part of the approval procedure for instrument flight operations at Strausberg Airfield.
The assessment should verify the compliance of requirements for a class E airspace in terms of the feasibility and the need for such airspace, taking into account the close vicinity to the airport BER and the present and future development of the traffic growth at Strausberg when introducing IFR flights. The airspace structure and the traffic development at other airfields close to Strausberg are also considered in the assessment. The trend analysis is based on a study called “Anforderungen und Verkehrsentwicklung der Allgemeinen Luftfahrt in Berlin-Brandenburg” (Requirements and Traffic Development in General Aviation in Berlin-Brandenburg) that was performed on behalf of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Agriculture of Brandenburg in 2012.
Besides the traffic growth analysis the assessment includes a detailed design for IFR departure and arrival procedures at Strausberg airfield.
