ECCAIRS2 interface for Occurrence Reporting implemented into SMS tool

GfL is one of the first providers of SMS software to integrate an innovative ECCAIRS2 interface, which allows airports to report occurrences to the relevant authorities directly via their own safety management system. The internal airport reports can be converted directly into an Occurrence Report and transmitted via the interface. The compatibility of the internal reports with the ECCAIRS2 taxonomy is ensured by individually developed transfer functions that enable the Occurrence report to be automatically filled with the information from the internal report.In addition, topic-specific templates (e.g. for bird strike, runway incursions, FOD), which have already been pre-checked by the German Federal Aviation Authority (LBA), are available for the occurrence reports, ensuring that only the fields from the ECCAIRS2 catalogue relevant to the situation are displayed.
This integration of the ECCAIRS interface into the airport's internal SMS tool results in considerable time and workload savings for the airport, as well as the advantage of centralised processing of all reports in one application.
In the first few weeks after going live, more than 50 occurrence reports have already been submitted by users via the interface.
