Safety assessment of missing/non-ICAO compliant runway end safety areas at City Airport Mannheim accomplished – Now execution of flight performance calculations

GfL presented the results of the safety assessment to the State Aviation Authority, the Regional Administrative Authority in Karlsruhe (approving authority) and the airport operator at Mannheim Airport. The study concludes that additional actions must been taken to guarantee safe flight operations due to the non-compliant runway design (missing RESA and reduced runway strips).
For a prospective Safety Monitoring GfL was now commissioned to do flight performance calculations for specific aircraft types operating at Mannheim Airport.
