Assessment of compatibility of siting areas for wind turbines regarding matters of aviation in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

According to the current update of suitable building areas for wind turbines in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern some areas are designated as so-called exclusion areas. In certain cases this is justified with nearby airfields and their associated obstacle limitation surfaces.
GfL examines whether these area reductions are in accordance with existing protected areas. In addition, GfL determines to which extent specific areas are compatible with the requirements of safe flight operations (analysis of obstacle limitation surfaces, assessment of protection areas around technical facilities for ATC and radio navigational aids).
