GfL supports safety assessment for non-ICAO compliant departure procedures at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (FBB)

FBB asked GfL for professional support for a unique project in German airspace: Take-offs from FBB runway 07R heading west should be permitted to depart straight ahead instead of turning left during climb-out. The turn is usually required by ICAO procedures to increase lateral separation to independently operating aircraft at runway 07L, but due to noise abatement a safety assessment shall ensure safe operations even with two straight departure routes. This project will include both German ATS provider DFS for operation approval and the local Noise Abatement Commission for acceptance of residents.
