GfL receives order to determine flight performance demand for the required runway length at Münster/Osnabrück airport

June 2012 | Performance Analyses

In the zoning decision of Münster/Osnabrück Airport (FMO) of 2004/2006, an extension of the runway (SLB) from originally 2,170 m to 3,600 m is planned. With the pronouncement of a judgement by the Oberverwaltungsgericht Münster in 2011, the action of the Naturschutzbund Deutschland (NABU) against FMO was upheld and the zoning decision was declared unlawful. On the basis of this situation, a reduced runway extension is now to be striven for within the framework of a plan amendment procedure, the proof of which GfL is to provide by means of detailed flight performance calculations in accordance with EU-OPS and EASA-CS25 as well as ICAO Aerodrome Manual (ADM) for the airport company.
