Aeronautical Study takes effect - Impressive building in the approach sector of Frankfurt Airport to be erected

February 2012 | Airport Planning

In autumn 2011, Groß & Partner Grundstücksentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH commissioned GfL to carry out an aeronautical survey according to ICAO in order to check whether the impressive rotationally symmetrical building "Alpha Rotex" with an overall height of 179.9 m NN could be erected. Now the real estate company has received the building permit - the responsible aviation authority in Hesse, HMWVL, and the German Air Traffic Control Authority, in consultation with the BMVBS, were convinced of the evidence of continued safe and regular flight operations at Germany's largest airport. With this study, GfL has made a comprehensive contribution to the standardization of such investigations: A comprehensive inspection concept was developed and agreed with the authorities, independent of the application. In principle, the test concept can be applied to all circumstances relevant to obstacles.
