GfL delivers new version of the Advanced Emission Model (AEM 2.6) to EUROCONTROL

May 2022 | Software

Just recently, GfL has completed the development of version 2.6 of EUROCONTROL’s AEM. The updated version implements the new ICAO non-volatile particulate matter (nvPM) calculation method according to detailed specifications provided by EUROCONTROL. In addition, various performance enhancements and simplifications of the source code, using the modern C++ features from the 2017 language standard, have been incorporated.

To further increase AEM’s capabilities, support for multiplatform and multicore processing has been introduced. For desktop use, there is a signed Windows 10 installer containing apps for data preparation and emission calculations along with sample data and documentation. For server applications, there is a standalone command line tool ready to run on modern Linux distributions.

After thorough validation of the delivered software, EUROCONTROL has released AEM 2.6.
