GfL delivers enhanced safety assessment for non-compliant RWY holding positions at Frankfurt/Main airport

Within the framework of the continuation of the safety assessment of non-compliant RWY holding positions according to ICAO (see news entry) at Frankfurt/Main airport, the results of the obstacle investigation of newly established RWY holding positions based on aircraft types recently introduced to the market (e.g. Airbus A350-1000, Boeing B787-9) are now available. The penetrations of the obstacle limitation surfaces according to NfL I 328/01 and EASA CS-ADR-DSN resulting from the dimensions of these aircraft in the RWY holding position area were examined for compatibility with safe flight operations by means of collision risk analysis according to ICAO Collision Risk Model (CRM).
