Obstacle assessment of wind turbines close to an airport

On behalf of ABO Wind AG, GfL investigated the compatibility of the construction of a total of 12 wind turbines of a planned wind farm with applicable obstacle requirements and the associated safe flight operations at an airfield. In this context it was checked whether the wind turbines penetrate the constructional restriction area (so-called Bauschutzbereich) in accordance with § 12 LuftVG (Aviation Act) as well as the obstacle boundary surfaces according to Nachrichten für Luftfahrer (NfL) I 328/01. On this basis, final statements on the approval capability were derived and recommendations for action were formulated.
