GfL receives order to determine required runway distances as well as conduct a safety assessment concerning the width of runway strips at Hamburg airport

Towards a strategically safe airport development, its operator Flughafen Hamburg GmbH aims at enhancing the airside infrastructure to cope future demand. In this context, GfL has been assigned to determine the required runway distances of aircraft models intended to operate at Hamburg Airport in the future. Along these enhancements, a safety assessment is conducted to grant prove the safety of flight operations in spite of partially reduced widths of runways strips. Results will become available in autumn 2017.
