DFS ordered ETAS Software - Permanent monitoring of flight efficiency (fuel consumption, emissions) for the five largest German Airlines from autumn 2016

An important step for the aviation in Germany is the integration of our „Enhanced Trajectory Analysis System“ (ETAS) take place in the headquarters of DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH. After comprehensive concept and research phase over the last two years DFS in common with the "Arbeitsgemeinschaft Optimiertes Fliegen", the owns the airlines Lufthansa group, TUIfly, Condor Flugdienst, Air Berlin and Germania, has decided to implement our ETAS Software for daily analysis and evaluation of all flight tracks indicate fuel consumption. An additional option for the evaluation of flight emissions (COX, NOX, SOX, carbon black, H2O, UHCH) is included.
Therefore daily precise determination and analysis of flight-specific consumption and the environmental performance of all operations performed by the AG members flights will be possible, as stored in the DFS radar data processing system FANOMOS. This regular performance measurement which is based on innovative calculation method, also developed at the Technical University Dresden, is providing a worldwide substantial contribution to eco-efficient design of air traffic. Additionally a significantly higher quality in determining the most important indicators in accordance whith SES Performance Sheme (EU VO 691/2010) can be affected.
