Fuel consumption analysis of CDA profiles at the commercial airports of Hanover, Frankfurt/Main and Munich as part of the DFS initiative "Optimised Flying"

GfL was commissioned to determine the fuel consumption of aircraft using a Continuous Descent Approach (CDA) at German commercial airports. As a result, the efficiency gain compared to conventionally flown approaches is to be determined. The analyses comprise over 10,000 approaches based on radar and high-resolution weather data. The airlines Condor, Lufthansa and Airberlin are also involved in the "Optimized Flying" initiative. Results should be available in May.
