GfL at UBA forum mobile & sustainable 2019

November 2019 | Environment

On 6 and 7 November 2019, the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) forum on mobile and sustainable air transport on the topic of "Air transport of the future: environmentally and climate-friendly, greenhouse gas neutral, low-noise" took place in Berlin . For this purpose, national and international experts from the aviation industry, representatives of relevant federal authorities and politicians came together to discuss environmentally friendly air traffic and the associated solutions. In addition to the presentation of the new UBA study on Environmentally Friendly Aviation and various presentations and panel discussions on climate and noise protection aspects in aviation, interactive workshops were also held. During Workshop 5 ("Flight Procedures: Designing Safe and Low Noise Routes"), Professor Fricke discussed with representatives of DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH (procedure design), Deutsche Lufthansa (noise optimised flight procedures) and the German Federal Air Traffic Controlling Office, BAF (legal aspects of flight route planning) our company's current research and investigation priorities, focusing in particular on the reduction of fuel consumption and aircraft noise (see ETAS software and the UBA project "Flight History Data as the Basis for Aircraft Noise Calculations"). Further information on Workshop 5 can be found here.
