GfL delivers safety assessment concerning external risks for island Foehr

The island Foehr belongs to the North Frisian Islands and to the district of North Frisia in federal state Schleswig-Holstein. In this context GfL was awarded to determine external risks (ER, see further information concerning the methodology) induced by flight operations and their impacts on people on the island, especially focusing on the operation of a go-kart track close to the Wyk airport located on the island’s southeastern part. By applying GfL’s in-house developed ER model it was found that group and individual risks induced by flight operations are tolerable especially for the go-kart track’s visitors and staff as well as residents and holiday guests. To the extent of flight safety the go-kart track’s operation can be maintained in future.
