Impact of construction-restricted zone on urban planning at Hamburg Finkenwerder Airfield

Since 2011 GfL has been supporting Airbus Operations Germany in the decision whether a construction-restricted zone (Bauschutzbereich based on §12/13 LuftVG) can be realised at the Airbus plant Finkenwerder. The possible introduction of a construction-restricted zone allows upgrading the Special Airfield to a Special Airport according to German law, which leads to a higher long-term planning dependability in regard of obstacle clearance. Further analysis according to the new EASA and EU regulations will be conducted by the end of the year.
